Terms of Service

These terms apply to the IPSW Checker app, its widgets and extensions, and the website ipswchecker.com (together, “IPSW Checker”), made by Trieu Vy (“we”, “us”). By using IPSW Checker you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

The app is licensed to you under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms add to that agreement; where they conflict, Apple’s agreement wins.

What IPSW Checker does

IPSW Checker shows publicly available information about Apple firmware: versions, builds, release dates, signing status, checksums, release notes and links to files hosted by Apple. It does not host, modify or distribute firmware files.

Information is provided as is

Firmware data comes from third-party sources, including ipsw.me and AppleDB, and from Apple’s public websites. Apple can stop signing a version at any time without notice, and sources can be late or wrong. Signing status and alerts may be delayed or incomplete.

Always confirm signing status before restoring or updating a device. You are responsible for any changes you make to your devices, including restores, updates and downgrades, and for backing up your data first.

IPSW Checker is an independent app. It is not made, endorsed or sponsored by Apple Inc. Apple product names are trademarks of Apple Inc. and are used only to identify devices and software.

IPSW Checker Pro

  • Pro is offered as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or as a one-time purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription.
  • You can manage or cancel a subscription in iOS Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • We may add, change or remove Pro features over time. A one-time purchase covers Pro for as long as we offer the app on the App Store.

Acceptable use

Please don’t misuse IPSW Checker or our server, for example by scraping it automatically, overloading it, or trying to access it in ways other than through the app.

Availability

We work to keep IPSW Checker running but can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or discontinue features, or the app, at any time.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, IPSW Checker is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data or damage to devices, arising from your use of the app or the information it shows. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for IPSW Checker in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.

How we handle data is described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using IPSW Checker after a change, the updated terms apply.
